Glossop Creates champions creativity across the Glossop valley – from visual art and music to food, storytelling, and everyday acts of making. We support artists, communities and organisations to bring creative projects to life and celebrate the culture of our town and its surroundings.

Wander is an ongoing project exploring creativity through walking – inviting people to move through the landscape more slowly, with curiosity and care. Each Wander offers a different way of experiencing Glossop: through photography, poetry, local history, or the sensory richness of the natural world.

This postcard features Dancing Mist, an image selected by artist Saima Rasheed, from her wander A Sensory Walk in Old Glossop. Saima’s practice draws on memory, light, texture and place – inviting participants to engage with nature through sound, touch, and simple creative exercises.

Her chosen image captures the fleeting softness of mist moving across Mossy Lea – a moment of stillness and subtle motion. It’s a place for slowing down, noticing texture, and letting your imagination wander.
